2. 9. 3. Ban of acid-cured coatings

description relevant product categories

explanation

Acid-cured varnishes have a resin component (e.g. urea-formaldehyde resin), and the hardener consists of hydrochloric acid and 4-methylbenzenesulphonic acid. Such varnishes are used in the furniture industry or as parquet sealers. When acid-cured varnishes are applied, they release not only the solvents they contain but considerable amounts of formaldehyde as well.

minimum requirement

Acid-cured coatings must not be used.
