Data sourcing
- Characteristic value: specific product values (often more accurate than reference values)
- Reference values: specified, generally conservative values (used when no characteristic value is available)
- BP reference value: Building physics reference value (e.g. thermal insulation design value)
- BOE reference value: Building ecology reference values (life cycle assessment data for building materials and construction processes)
- ZG reference value: Composite reference value derived from BP and BOE
Notes on the use of the data
The reference and product characteristic values are based on Austrian standards and regulations and are intended for the calculation of energy and environmental performance indicators, produced as part of housing subsidy schemes in individual federal states or as part of a building authority procedure (energy performance certificate). In principle, the data may be used in other countries. The data is only of limited suitability for use in building physics reports – this applies in particular to vapour diffusion calculations.
