baubook is a web portal for the declaration of building products and components.
All registered products are quality-assured and benefit from centralised verification, which is necessary for tenders, building certifications and subsidy systems. In the declaration centre, the life cycle assessments and characteristic values for building ecology and building physics are mapped and the criteria are explained. These are made available to programme manufacturers and published on other databases.
The purpose of baubook
baubook provides a web portal for building products and components. Manufacturers declare their products with building physics and building ecology values. All products are validated by baubook and are quality assured. Product qualities can be compared objectively. The fulfilment of criteria is documented and verified for each product. One of baubook's core functions is to search for, find and compare products based on certain criteria in the respective eco-platforms.
Platform for manufacturers
Manufacturers can register products independently on baubook. ba ubook offers a supporting registration service. The information provided by the manufacturers is checked by baubook for completeness and plausibility, summarised and entered. Even when the data is entered by baubook GmbH, liability for the correctness and completeness of the data remains with the manufacturer. In both cases, quality assurance is carried out in the same way.
Benefits for customers
Many eco-programmes recognise the baubook declaration as verification. You store your test certificates and verifications just once in the baubook central database and decide which test certificates you wish to publish. After successful quality control by the baubook team, your product data is available to all interested parties on the baubook platforms free of charge.
Service: Product registration by baubook
If you wish, baubook GmbH will also be happy to register your products. The registration is carried out in accordance with the information and documents provided. On this basis, the product group(s) are assigned. The relevant criteria and attributes (product properties) for the products are derived from the product groups.

Eco-programmes and platforms
Wide target audience
More than 10,000 visitors a week get specific information about around 3,700 recommended products on the baubook platforms. On average, building products are clicked on 10-12 times a week.
The basic data for the energy and building certificate are downloaded around 1,500 times per month by professionals and consultants. These data are used to calculate the energy and ecological indicators of many buildings.
Guaranteed product quality
All baubook products are validated. Quality assurance is carried out by a different QA employee during registration by baubook. If the composition of the products changes, manufacturers are obliged to report the changes to baubook immediately, i.e. they are obliged to update the data on baubook (see terms and conditions). These changes are then checked. Amendment costs apply if the last quality assurance is older than 2 years.
Consistent presentation of product qualities
Products are presented in a similar way on baubook and can be compared using the ‘favourites’ function or the free component calculator. This makes it easier for planners, building applicants and builders to decide on an ecologically recommendable building product.
