Characteristic values

baubook provides building physical and building ecological characteristic values for energy and life cycle assessment calculations. The list of characteristic values includes more than 1000 reference values (generic data) as well as product-specific data based on environmental product declarations (EPD). Users can download the data in XML format and import it into calculation programmes or retrieve it via API interfaces.

Reference values

The baubook reference values primarily provide characteristic values for the calculation of energy and environmental performance indicators of building components and buildings and serve as orientation values for various product groups.

The catalogue supports the calculation within the framework of the energy performance certificate and the OI3, especially in the early planning phase as well as in the existing building stock, when concrete products are not (yet) known. The baubook has set itself the goal of depicting reference values for all important product groups.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

Product-specific life cycle assessment data are prepared in the form of environmental product declarations (EPDs).

In order for LCA data to be comparable with each other and to be used together for the building LCA, they must be created according to uniform rules. For the inclusion of EPD data in baubook, there are therefore inclusion criteria that are intended to ensure as uniform a database as possible for users.

Access to reference and characteristic values

The reference and characteristic values can be downloaded here (German only) free of charge and used in these calculation programmes.

The characteristic values are also available in the baubook tools for the life cycle assessment of components and buildings:

Data integration into your own calculation programmes is possible via an interface. Please sign the agreement for the use of the data.

baubook characteristic values are used for the life cycle assessment of buildings.
Life cycle assessments can be created for all possible building types: Multi-storey residential buildings or single-family houses, existing buildings or new buildings, conventional or innovative buildings, service buildings, ...
